The girth channel is placed between the girth and the horse. Larger stables find girth channels an invaluable tool, as the girth channel is also easily disinfected, which helps prevent the spread of bacterial and fungal infections where the same gear is used on multiple horses. The girth channel reduces the need to wash the girth as often, and so extending the life of the girth.
