Shires Blue Sweet Iron Hunter Dee Bit with Lozenge
The Shires Blue Sweet Iron Hunter Dee Bit with Lozenge is designed to encourage softness, acceptance, and a steady contact. Made from blue sweet iron, this bit naturally oxidizes with use, creating a slightly sweet taste that many horses find more appealing. This can help promote relaxation and improved responsiveness to the rider’s aids.
The double-jointed mouthpiece with a lozenge sits comfortably on the tongue and helps distribute pressure more evenly across the bars and tongue. By eliminating the traditional nutcracker action found in single-jointed bits, the lozenge design offers a softer, more ergonomic feel for the horse.
The Hunter Dee cheek pieces provide gentle lateral guidance and stability, helping keep the bit centered in the horse’s mouth while offering clearer turning aids—making it a popular choice for both schooling and showing.
