A central pad helps distribute pressure on the tongue and mouth bars, encouraging mouthing and contact. Brass alloy is formed when copper is alloyed with a harder metal, producing a warm, durable material that is perfect for horse bits because it can facilitate salivation and be more palatable to the horse.
